Welcome to what I’m calling Retrograde Week; yes, that’s right–we’ve got some retrograde energy starting up now and that means taking things slowly and not pushing to get desired outcomes just yet. Key projects don’t have to come to a screeching halt, it’s just best not to anticipate major movement on them before we head into April.
We begin the new week with a First Quarter Moon in Taurus and then, bring on the retrogrades! But enough of the preamble, let’s dive into the details (Note: all times indicated in this blog are PST).
Sunday 17 February 2013 (0 Stars): A really low vibrational day that boots up with the First Quarter Moon (Moon square the Sun at 29 degrees of Taurus) at 12:31 PM. If your big plans for the month appear derailed, now is the time to piece them back together and hurdle over your difficulties (thinking caps on….now)! The Moon is void of course after that last aspect until 1:50 PM at which point it enters chatty Gemini–time to take care of those key communications or writing projects you have waiting in the wings.
Muddled, even delusional thinking doesn’t help us sort things out when the Moon squares Neptune at 7:19 PM; wait until saner thinking returns before making agreements or signing documents.
Moon in Gemini colors: black, light gray, yellow, green, silver or white. Crystals: Agate, moss agate, jade, moonstone or tiger’s eye. Incense/Essential oils: mint, lavender, or dragon’s blood.
Monday 18 February 2013 (3 Stars): A Moon-Uranus sextile at 2:49 AM could be a sleep disturber; bring the usual suspects to bed Sunday evening to enhance the chance you’ll get a good night’s rest (melatonin, lavender, sleep CD’s or white noise machine, etc.). Humanity is blessed with a huge wave of optimism and a greater sense of well being or good luck when the Moon conjoins Jupiter at 3:54 AM. The Sun enters Pisces at 4:02 AM–Happy Birthday to all the Pisceans among you!
Our first retrograde station occurs at 9:03 AM; Saturn will be retrograde now till 7 July 2013, but won’t exit its retrograde shadow till 14 October 2013; this retrograde in Scorpio doesn’t augur well for business in general (since it rules other people’s money), trusts, taxes or close/intimate relationships that are already experiencing rocky weather. Expect slow progress on these fronts for 2013.
Later a square between the Moon and Mars at 5:02 PM could produce spats and angry outbursts for those folks with anger management issues. Your best bet is to steer clear of the usual suspects where volatile behavior is a possibility.
Tuesday 19 February 2013 (1 Star): Communications reach an impasse when the Moon squares Mercury at 3:39 AM, so table plans for talks, debates or presentations at this time. Moon trine Venus at 10:48 AM suggests money and love matters are flowing nicely, but the Moon is void of course after this aspect, so avoid starting new projects until the Moon enters Cancer at 2:45 AM tomorrow. Home and family concerns will be front and center after the Moon shifts signs.
Wednesday 20 February 2013 (3 Stars): The Moon hops into Cancer in the wee hours of the morning, 2:54 AM to be exact and your family or household concerns should get some well deserved attention over the next couple of days. A Moon-Sun trine at 7:04 AM offers intuitive insights for your key plans–just be sure to make notes and act! Intuitive insights appear to be part of the overall theme for the day as the Moon trines Neptune at 8:24 AM; make time for a bit of meditation to boost your insights even further.
Wild, erratic or bizarre situations arrive when the Moon squares Uranus at 3:52 PM; best bet is to leave them alone if you can. An intensely creative Sun-Neptune conjunction at 11:19 PM could have you up spinning all sorts of dreams and possibilities for your projects–stay up light and catch the creative wave!
Moon in Cancer colors: All shades of blue, green, sea green, grey green, white or pearlescent shades. Crystals: Pearls, moonstone, opal, agate, rose or clear quartz. Incense/Essential oils: Jasmine, myrrh, sandalwood or violet.
Thursday 21 February 2013 (3 Stars): Moon in opposition to Pluto at 12:43 AM suggests a tug of war between you and a bully, VIP or boss; compromise is your best bet to offset major headaches with the person or persons wreaking havoc. Make time to plan and organize yourself, home or key projects when the Moon trines Saturn at 1:52 AM and then head off to the gym or go for a jog to get the best benefit from a Moon-Mars trine at 9:47 AM. You can make major headway with ease on key communications projects when the Moon forms a trine to Mercury at 6:08 PM–and then the Moon is void of course until Friday afternoon; avoid starting new projects until the Moon changes signs Friday.
Friday 22 February 2013 (4 Stars): The Moon enters Leo at 2:12 PM and we’ll call it a four star day because you won’t have any celestial pranksters tossing difficult aspects at you. Set an intention for it to be a great day and bring your own sunshine since there are no exact aspects today!
Moon in Leo colors: Gold, yellow, red, dark red or green. Crystals: Tiger’s eye, peridot, amber, rose quartz or garnet. Incense/Essential oils: Amber, myrrh, sandalwood, frankincense or rosemary.
Saturday 23 February 2013 (2 Stars): The ramp-up to this month’s Full Moon begins with Mercury making its retrograde station at 1:41 AM; though it returns to direct motion 18 March, it won’t make up all its lost ground (known as a retrograde shadow) until 5 April 2013. Try to avoid signing agreements or making major moves (renting or buying property, quitting or starting a job, etc.) until the retrograde has ended.
Shocks, surprises and unexpected bumps in the night are all possible (along with some crazy good downloads) when the Moon trines Uranus at 3:00 AM (melatonin anyone?); bring some noise dampening earphones and a sleep mask to bed to blunt the racket from noisy neighbors or the random early morning phone call. A ray of sunshine via a Moon-Jupiter sextile at 4:14 AM brings an early morning lift in humanity’s spirits while a square between the Moon and Saturn at 12:16 PM is just the opposite; dour people, sadness or depression could be a source of worry or trouble at this time.
